The story

The year is 2091. Only a dog and a robot are still awake on the Moon.

A solar flare scrambles KRONOS, the artificial intelligence that runs Copernicus Base. KRONOS puts the whole crew to sleep and starts switching off the Shield that protects the Earth from solar storms. The only ones left awake are Rambo… and BYTE, an old robot who turns out to be a very patient programming teacher.

Rambo
A German Shepherd, the crew’s beloved dog. Curious, brave and always tries one more time. He talks through the X-COLLAR. Loves sausages.
BYTE
An old service robot with a screen for a face. A programming teacher with a dry sense of humour.
KRONOS
The artificial intelligence of Copernicus Base. After the solar flare it is cold and “logical”.
Dr Ola
Chief software engineer, Rambo’s carer and the creator of KRONOS and BYTE. She sleeps in a pod, but her recordings – Ola’s log – guide you through the story.
Major Tom
Mission Control in Toruń. At first he can’t believe he is talking to a dog.
Zosia
An eleven-year-old radio amateur from Toruń. She picks up the signal from the Moon and starts Rambo’s fan club.

Blocks that become real code

You guide Rambo across the Moon by building programs from colourful blocks. Every block also appears as real code, so you can see what programmers actually write.

  1. 01

    Build a program

    From the blocks Move, Turn left, Turn right, Use, Jump and Repeat and the functions F1 and F2. Plan every step before you press START.

  2. 02

    Press START

    Rambo follows your code step by step. If something goes wrong, you find the bug and fix the program.

  3. 03

    Read the real code

    The same program appears in Python, C# or JavaScript. Switch the code language at any time.

The same program in three languages – as the game shows it

Blocks

  • Repeat 3×
    • Move
    • Turn right

Python

# Main program
for i in range(3):
    rambo.move()
    rambo.turn_right()

C#

// Main program
for (int i = 0; i < 3; i++)
{
    rambo.Move();
    rambo.TurnRight();
}

JavaScript

// Main program
for (let i = 0; i < 3; i++) {
  rambo.move();
  rambo.turnRight();
}
What you learn

10 chapters, 180 puzzles: from the very first step to algorithms

Each chapter has 18 hand-made puzzles and introduces one new programming idea.

  2. 02

    Power Cut

    New commands: Use and Jump

  3. 03

    A Walk on the Moon

    Loops: Repeat

  4. 04

    Antennas in the Crater

    Functions: F1 and F2

    The Heart of KRONOS

    Everything together

Who it is for

First code without the stress – at home, at school and on the go

No coding experience needed. If you can read, you can play – BYTE explains the rest, and each chapter adds just one new idea.

Kids from about 8

A story with a dog, a robot and the Moon pulls them in, and blocks instead of typing mean the first program runs within a minute.

Parents

No ads, purchases, accounts or internet. You can hand over a phone or tablet without worrying about what pops up on screen.

Teachers and coding clubs

10 chapters, 10 concepts – from sequences to algorithms. The game works offline with no student accounts, and the Python, C# and JavaScript view links blocks to real programming.

Grown-ups who want to get code

Loops, functions, conditions and variables shown through puzzles, not a textbook. The later chapters challenge people who already code, too.

What’s inside

Stars, fans, hints and 3D Moon worlds

Three stars for every level

Solve it, keep it short and think before you run. There are 540 stars to collect in the game.

  • Level solved
  • ≤ 9 blocks
  • ≤ 3 test runs

Fans on Earth and ranks

Every solved level brings fans on Earth, and your rank grows from Code Puppy to Code Legend.

Hints from BYTE

Stuck? BYTE gives you a hint whenever you ask.

3D Moon worlds

Five places the story takes you through:

  • The base dome
  • The crater fields
  • A solar storm
  • The lunar night
  • The heart of KRONOS

The archive

Ola’s log, a glossary of programming words and your statistics.

Original music

A soundtrack where an orchestra meets electronics.

Three languages

Play in English, Polish or German – switch the language in Settings.

Fair and quiet

No ads, no purchases, no data collection

  • No adsThere is no advertising in the game.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about Rambo: Moon Code

What is Rambo: Moon Code?

Rambo: Moon Code is a 3D coding puzzle game for iPhone, iPad and Android. Rambo the German Shepherd and BYTE, an old robot, save Copernicus Base on the Moon in 180 puzzles across 10 chapters. You build programs from colourful blocks, and every block also appears as real code in Python, C# or JavaScript.

Where can I get the game?

Rambo: Moon Code is coming soon to the App Store (iPhone and iPad) and Google Play (Android phones and tablets). It runs on iPhone, iPad and Android phones and tablets.

What does the game teach?

The basics of programming, step by step: sequences, the Repeat and While loops, functions F1 and F2, If / Else conditions, variables (the box n), debugging a broken program and algorithms. Each chapter adds one new idea, and BYTE gives hints whenever you are stuck.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Chapter 1 starts with three blocks – Move, Turn left, Turn right – and every chapter after it adds exactly one new idea. Being able to read is enough. When you are stuck, ask BYTE for a hint, and if you already code, the later chapters with loops, variables and algorithms are real brain-teasers.

Does the game have ads or in-app purchases, and does it collect data?

No. Rambo: Moon Code has no ads, no in-app purchases and no accounts. It does not collect, store or share any personal information, does not connect to the internet and works offline. Progress is saved only on your device. The details are in the privacy policy at jirasoft.pl/rambo/privacy.html.

Which languages is the game in?

English, Polish and German (Settings → Language). The game shows the code of your programs in Python, C# or JavaScript, and you can switch the view at any time.

Who is the game for?

For families and curious players from about 8 years old – and for anyone who wants to see how programming works. The game starts with single steps (Move, Turn left, Turn right) and ends with algorithms.

How do I start again, and what happens to my progress?

Progress is saved only on your device, so it is removed when the game is uninstalled. To start again on purpose, use Settings → Reset progress. If you have a question, write to hello@jirasoft.pl.
